What to expect at your first appointment.

Before the meeting

You do not need to prepare anything. If you have documents handy (mortgage statement, payslips, bank statements), bring them. If you do not, that is fine - we will tell you what we need after we understand your situation.

What we will ask you

We will ask about:

• -Your current property and mortgage (approximate value, balance, who is on the loan)
• -Your income (employment type, rough amount)
• -Any other debts (credit cards, car loans, BNPL)
• -Children and child support arrangements (if applicable)
• -What you are hoping to achieve - keep the home, sell, buy new, or you are not sure yet

What we will NOT ask

We will not ask about the reasons for your separation, whose fault it was, or anything about your relationship. We deal with the finance, not the personal side. Everything you share is confidential.

What you will walk away with

• ✓A rough idea of your borrowing capacity on your own income
• ✓Whether keeping the home is financially achievable
• ✓What the next steps are (and in what order)
• ✓A personalised document checklist if you want to proceed
• ✓Clarity - which for most people is the biggest relief

How long does it take?

About 30 minutes. In person at our Daw Park office, by phone, or by video call - whatever you prefer. There is no obligation to proceed after the meeting.
